Natalie started dancing at the age of 3 before training full time at London based performing arts schools and colleges, where she obtained her ISTD DDI teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern. Natalie is now working on her final two units to obtain DDE status.
She has over 15 years’ teaching experience within dance school and educational environments. Her dance school credentials include teacher and choreographer roles at Accents’ Dance Studio, Canada and the Tamworth Academy of Dance.
She also has extensive experience teaching at educational colleges operating within a regulated training framework, including Coventry City College and North Warwickshire & Hinckley College.
Her most recent role as Learning Coach with Leicester College sees her offering support to students to ensure they achieve their potential. She proudly holds qualifications in Teaching in Education and Understanding and Supporting Children and Youth People’s Mental Health.
Natalie is delighted to be part of TheatreWorks as joint principal, where she looks forward to supporting her students to get the most out of their training. She believes that whatever a child’s motivation for joining the school, TheatreWorks can support them on every step of the journey.
She will lead on ballet within the school whilst also supporting across all areas.
Cerise trained for 15 years at Dupont Dance Stage School in Leicester. She progressed through all RAD Ballet and ISTD Tap, Modern and Classical Greek examinations - all achieved with distinction level marks.
She went on to work professionally in the UK, Europe and Asia. Her most recent work is with the UKs most successful and popular choreographer, Sir Matthew Bourne with his ‘New Adventures Company’. Cerise completed her run as ‘Martha’ in the World Premiere of Sir Matthew Bourne’s new critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet at the Curve Theatre in Leicester in June 2019.
Whilst training, Cerise competed extensively on the All England Dance circuit becoming an All England Champion soloist on numerous occasions, as well as All England Champion as part of duet, trios and groups.
In addition, she has represented England at the Dance World Cup on two occasions returning as a multiple medallist and has been recognised nationally as a finalist of the Bloch Artist Search.
At TheatreWorks, Cerise leads on Tap and Modern disciplines, she is working towards ISTD qualified teacher status in both subjects and will complete in December 2019.
Having always held an ambition to teach, she has taught for two Leicestershire based dance schools in recent years. She is now delighted to be joint principal at TheatreWorks where she aims to bring her technical and performance expertise to the students.
